AAS Premium Migration and Rescue Services
Turn scattered writing into a usable author workspace.
This service is for authors who already have material, but it is disorganized, incomplete, fragmented, outdated, or difficult to work with. Instead of starting over, they get their existing writing recovered, cleaned up, restructured, and placed into AI Authors Studio in a way that makes the project manageable again.
That means helping authors:
-
gather all manuscript pieces into one place
-
identify the best and most current draft
-
reconstruct chapters and book sections
-
recover front matter, back matter, notes, and appendices
-
sort duplicate or conflicting versions
-
convert older projects into AAS format
-
organize multiple books or a backlist into a clean working library
Messy Manuscript Import
For authors whose book exists across many files, formats, or versions.
Examples:
- chapters in separate Word files
- notes in Google Docs and text files
- old PDF exports with no editable master
- partial manuscript in one file and revisions in another
- content pasted from email, notes apps, or cloud folders
What you do:
- collect source files from the author
- identify likely main manuscript files
- combine fragmented sections
- preserve as much text and structure as possible
- load the material into AAS as a usable project
Deliverable:
- one organized AAS project instead of a pile of disconnected files
Chapter Structure Reconstruction
For manuscripts where chapter breaks, headings, parts, or sections are damaged, inconsistent, or lost.
Examples:
- one giant block of text
- chapters not labeled clearly
- chapter titles and numbers mixed together
- broken imports from PDF or EPUB
- missing part breaks or sub-sections
What we do:
- identify likely chapter boundaries
- rebuild chapter order
- restore titles, numbering, and hierarchy
- separate front matter, main content, and back matter
- create a logical structure inside AAS
Deliverable:
- a properly segmented manuscript with readable chapter organization
Scattered-Document Recovery
For authors who have a project spread across folders and can no longer tell what goes where.
Examples:
- research in one folder
- outline in another
- draft chapters on a hard drive
- revision notes in comments and emails
- character notes, timelines, and marketing ideas separated from the manuscript
What we do:
- inventory materials
- group items by function: manuscript, outline, notes, research, extras
- reconnect support materials to the correct project
- label and organize content into a usable workspace
- create clarity around what belongs to the book and what does not
Deliverable:
- one coherent working environment where the author can actually move forward
Legacy Project Conversion into AAS
- Word-based writing system
- Google Docs workflow
- Scrivener export
- mixed local documents from older writing projects
- previous software that is no longer serving them
What we do:
- review the old project structure
- map legacy content into AAS sections and workflows
- preserve titles, chapters, notes, and supporting materials
- create a clean AAS project that feels familiar but more organized
- reduce the learning curve for the author
Deliverable:
- a ready-to-use AAS version of the author’s old project
Backlist Organization
For authors with multiple published or unpublished books that need order.
Examples:
- several books across many years
- older manuscripts with inconsistent naming
- books, revisions, bonus materials, and marketing docs mixed together
- no standardized project structure across titles
What we do:
- organize books by title, series, category, or status
- separate active vs archived projects
- standardize naming and structure
- prepare projects for revision, re-release, repackaging, or translation
- create a cleaner long-term author library inside AAS
Deliverable:
- an orderly backlist the author can navigate and maintain
The Problem This Solves
This service is valuable because overwhelmed authors often do not need “more writing advice” first. They need relief.
Does this sound familiar?
- “I don’t know which file is the right one.”
- “I wrote this book over five years in different places.”
- “My chapters are all over the place.”
- “I have the manuscript, but it’s a mess.”
- “I want to revise, but I can’t even get organized enough to begin.”
- “I have three books and no consistent system.”
- “I’m afraid I’ll lose something important if I merge files myself.”
This service gives you:
- clarity
- structure
- reduced overwhelm
- a path forward
- confidence that their work has not been lost
Current Limitations of this Service:
1) Migration work will be limited to AAS customers of either our subscription service at the Studio Level or the Studio Level AAS Plugin
2) All migration work for now will be in English. As we grow and add resources we will also do the work in other languages
3) Since we are just launching AAS this Spring we will have limited bandwidth to work on migrations for the next few months. It would be best to send us an email first to mke@mkettingtonbooks.com to make sure we can support your migration now.
4) Migrations are priced for a certain number of hours–which are stated in the product when you purchase it. We will add custom migration options later on.
5) All migration is a good faith service. If we can’t do it we will tell you why but we will still charge for our time in that case.
